Volt Technical Resources has a long-term position available in New York City for an experienced Web Designer.
Position Description/Overview:
Our Client is looking for a seasoned Designer to join a rapidly-growing internal interactive agency. The role requires expertise in Marketing campaigns and interactive UI/UX to create breakthrough brand experiences.
The Company is especially interested in Designers who are obsessed with the merging of exceptional design and flawless user experience, creating design that "feels" right. While pushing the latest design and technology trends, the Designer will keep in mind the less-adapted End Users to ensure that their experience is equally exceptional. Finally, the Designer will transform strategic initiatives from the Online Marketing group into compelling, engaging creations seen weekly by millions.
Core Duties/Responsibilities:
- Report to the Art Director
- Support Our Client's vision for Marketing projects
- Translate user needs into an exceptional interactive experience
- Develop/communicate industry-leading creative concepts that balance long-term strategy with Our Client's business objectives
- Demonstrate experience in working with Art Directors to translate consumer insights into actionable original strategies and breakthrough concepts that drive business results
- Collaborate with stakeholders to maintain current project obligations and help grow the existing business
- Share responsibility for new design efforts, as well as collaborate with Creative and Marketing teams in crafting pitches for original work
- Demonstrate a multi-disciplinary approach to innovative problem-solving
- Understand and effectively communicate/implement ingenious concepts that reflect the Company’s creative and business philosophy, methodology and capabilities
- Demonstrate foresight by understanding emerging tools, technology and business practices for the digital medium, as well as learning the application of these tools and practices
- Strive to be a thought leader and advanced practitioner in creative tools and tactics
This is an estimated one-year PLUS contingent / temporary position, through Volt Technical Resources, based in New York City. We are among the largest staffing companies in the US for contingent/temporary and direct hire placements, and support most of the top-rated companies on the East Coast.
Requirements:
Required Skills for this Designer position include the following:
- Must have a strong portfolio with national/international creative achievements
- 5+ years of experience in large-scale design, as well as expertise in developing both interactive advertising, eCommerce and websites/microsites
- Must be an acknowledged thought-leader with excellent team building skills
- Proven ability at developing and communicating industry-leading creative concepts
- Solid understanding of and appreciation for the distinction between leading-edge expression and business objectives
- Effective and innovative brainstorming, ideation, rapid-prototyping and other problem-solving skills
- Effective organizational approach, performance management orientation and superb interpersonal skills
- Experience working on social media campaigns a plus
- Experience with Motion Graphics and 3-D design also a plus
- Understanding of the following software/languages required:
- HTML5
- Mac OSX
- Photoshop
- Illustrator
- Adobe After Effects
- Adobe Acrobat/Distiller
- InDesign
- Some background in Photographic Composition, Photo Manipulation and Retouching, Vector Graphics and Icons definitely a Plus
- Some experience in User Experience Flows and Design Documentation also a plus
