Designer
The Designer creates and executes concepts, designs art and copy layouts and creates appropriate digital documents and layouts consistent with the goals and objectives as outlined in creative briefs. Assigns projects to and guides the activities and development of projects assigned to the Production Graphic Assistants.
- Responsible for the design, layout and formatting of materials in accordance with the instructions from Art Director/Accounts Mgrs.
- Responsible for the development of images and concepts for a variety of creative projects.
- Directs the activities of Stylists, Photographers, and Illustrators as they may relate to the execution of projects.
- Reviews and studies photographs and illustrations to plan the presentation of material, product or service to clients.
- Determines size and arrangement of illustrative materials and copy. Selects style and size and arranges layout based on available space, knowledge of layout principles and aesthetic design concepts.
- Assists Art Directors in the creation design concepts.
- Attends client meetings with senior staff to facilitate development of client relation skills.
- Instructs production artists in the manner projects are to be executed based on information and instructions from Senior Designers.
- Reviews final layouts with production graphic artists and suggests improvements as needed.
- Prepares, marks up and assemble final layouts for supervisors and client presentation.
- Creates or supervises the creation of marked up comprehensives and 3-D samples of finish layouts for client approval and release to appropriate supplier.
- Performs duties consistent with the company's AAP/EEO goals and policies.
- Performs other duties as required/assigned by manager.
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic design or related field, or equivalent.
- 5+ years of advertising agency or design studio experience
- Proven ability to research and translate design trends into graphic concepts that communicate clearly to the customer
- In depth understanding of printing production.
- Experienced in photo direction.
- Proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator, FreeHand, Quark Xpress and other graphics software.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong organizational and self-directing skills.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Normal office environment. Some travel required.
