Deskside Support Job in Boulder, Colorado US

JOB FUNCTIONS

·         Maintains, analyzes, troubleshoots, and repairs workstations (Windows Apple), hardware, software, computer peripherals, PDA’s, and blackberries.

·         Documents, maintains, upgrades or replaces hardware and software systems.

·         Supports and maintains user account information including rights, security and systems groups.

·         Provides desktop support remotely and desktop and LAN support onsite at the customer location.

·         Supports security policy, operating system and patch administration for desktops and laptops.

·         Develops and maintains updated base desktop images.

·         Supports desktop services during regularly scheduled Disaster Recovery exercises.

·         Work with clients, on-site and remotely, within multiple departments and divisions to define workstation requirements and provide solutions.

·         Install, maintain and enhance workstation hardware and software systems by building, testing, implementing and supporting new products, facilitating the acquisition of upgrades, developing or purchasing enhancements, and making modifications based on established plans and procedures.

·         Assist clients and other analysts in understanding and using workstations by providing day-to-day consulting assistance, problem resolution, informal training and by developing and distributing formal and informal documentation.

·         Be the IT first point of contact with all printers and network functions.

·         Is the main IT contact for customer needs to help troubleshoot problems.

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE

·         A four-year degree from an accredited college or university, or a two-year degree from a technical institute or the equivalent in work experience.

·         Experience supporting both Windows and Apple operating systems.

·         Strong interpersonal and communications skills and a process orientation are required.

·         Strong customer service skills and the ability to interface with all levels of the organization

·         Exhibits a can-do attitude that is results oriented and can work with limited supervision.

·         Experience working with remote clients.

·         Must have excellent planning, analytical, written, and organizational skills and the ability to perform detail-oriented work.

Must have the ability to troubleshoot issues by isolating the problem, then resolving or escalating as needed
