Desktop / 2nd Line / Second Line Support Engineer

 

Market leading Financial Company requires a Desktop Support Analyst to be based at their offices near London Bridge.

 

Role Responsibilities:

The suitable candidate will report to the IT User Support Manager and will be responsible for providing IT telephone and technical support to users.

You will also be required to maintain and oversee installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of end user Workstation hardware, software and peripheral devices, as well as manage calls logged at the Support Desk ensuring timely resolution in accordance with the agreed Service Level Agreement.

 

Essential Skills Experience:

•             Good knowledge of Windows XP Professional / Windows 7 and Microsoft Office 2003 - 2010

•             Good understanding and experience of Active Directory administration

•             Experience of BES administration

•             Knowledge of TCP/IP and DNS.

•             Understanding of Microsoft Exchange

•             Understanding of Group policy and it’s usage

•             Awareness of Citrix

•             At least 3 years experience of working in an IT technical support role including a demonstration of good problem solving skills with the ability to visualise a problem or situation and think abstractly to solve it.

•             Have experience and the ability to handle a constantly changing flow of support calls and technical assistance; remain productive during quiet times; be able to multitask effectively during busy times and remain professional and patient during stressful situations.

•             Self Motivated, good organisational and communication skills.

•             Have the ability to act on own initiative.

•             Genuinely want to deliver a first-class service.

•             Be able to provide technical support over the telephone with good communication skills and a professional demeanour.

 

Desirable:

               Willingness to travel UK and Overseas.

               Experience of managing projects.
