Description of position The Client Integration Analyst is responsible for analyzing, designing and implementing solutions for the desktop and thin client environment. This role involves developing detailed recommendations for management, strategic planning and implementation, and consulting with other departments to understand technical and business needs to support and analyze recommend system changes. The Client Integration Analyst also provides technical leadership to others in IS and in the business areas. In doing so the Analyst will help ensure maximum productivity and minimum downtime to our internal customers and provide the highest level of service and support to all desktop and thin client users. Tasks and responsibilities Research and integration of new desktop technologies. Development of software automation and deployment strategies and techniques. Active Directory and Group Policy administration of client devices. Participate in development of a VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure) strategy. Create and develop procedures to manage new VDI requests, from request through implementation. Packaging and sequencing software applications for local and remote workstations. Documentation and communication of configuration changes in support of change management processes. Leading departmental projects and technology initiatives. Driving desktop security enhancements and best practices. Communicating with business areas within the company to understand and assess needs. Troubleshooting and resolving complex 3rd Level desktop related issues. Staying current on business and industry-related technology to support various business areas. Reducing and eliminating Operations and Maintenance duties by analyzing and root cause analysis initiatives. Leading and teaching others. Required skills, abilities, and certifications Minimum 5 years experience configuring, supporting and managing desktop devices in a large distributed enterprise environment. Minimum 3 years of administration experience using Active Directory and Group Policy. Proven experience analyzing and designing solutions for enterprise Desktop strategies, with advanced knowledge of endpoint security design and management. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems, Microsoft Windows based applications, Antivirus Software, Anti-Spyware, Embedded Operating systems, 5250 emulation software and various 3rd party Client/Server applications. 2 years experience supporting users and deploying applications via Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), Altiris or other desktop software management applications. 3 years experience developing and deploying images using tools like Microsoft Deployment Toolkit, SCCM, WinPE, Altiris, and/or similar deployment applications. 2 years experience packaging applications and application updates with tools such as InstallShield and/or sequencing applications using Microsoft AppV. Minimum 2 years scripting experience using VB script and/or Power Shell. 2 years proven experience coordinating multiple large cross department projects. Exemplary troubleshooting skills that include network protocols, hardware diagnostics, and client operating systems. Demonstrated experience administrating desktops in a virtual environment. Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to work effectively with all levels of the business and IS personnel. Proven documentation skills and experience conducting technical training classes for others. Demonstrated strong organizational skills and proven ability to meet tight deadlines as well as coordinate, prioritize and communicate project statuses. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills to create and present documentation or proposals for projects/tasks. Must be willing to travel, work evenings, weekends and holidays, and be able to provide 24 X 7 X 365 on-call coverage. Must be self-motivated and able to work independently or with team members with little supervision.
