Desktop Support Engineer ($25K-35K) recruitment
The Company
Our client, a leading trading company, is looking for a Desktop Support Engineer to provide technical support for their traders in Hong Kong. This is a unique opportunity to join a firm that is performing exceptionally well through the difficult economic landscape - and is expanding their business in multiple areas.
The Role
Primary responsibility for this position will be providing desktop support to traders and developers from the hardware and software perspective. Strong technical skills a must, along with excellent communications. Previous experience of working in trading floor in a financial services firm or a bank preferable but not essential.
Your Profile
To succeed in the role, you must have at least 2 years of experience in providing technical support in a fast-paced environment. You will also need:
- Solid Support Skills in Windows XP, Windows 7, Office 2007/2010, Windows 2008 R2 Servers, Linux.
- Basic networking concept with good understanding of TCP/IP.
- Strong working knowledge of hardware and software; solid troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Advanced technical knowledge of IT infrastructure, Desktop software and hardware; previous working experience with computer support preferable
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in both English and Chinese
- Ability to deliver under pressure and on a tight schedule, manage users' expectation
- Previous working experience in providing desktop support for traders
