Title: Desktop Support Engineer
Location: Singapore
Status: 12-month Contract
SUMMARY:
- This position provides 1st/2nd level end user support for desktop operations including mobile technologies (Blackberry, VPN, RSA Secure Tokens).
- Propose, deploy and maintain IT systems within the department in conjunction with global standards and the local infrastructure teams (Creating new OS builds, Software inventory provisioning, patch management, Active Directory maintenance including GPO’s deployments etc)
- To work with vendors clients ensuring defined standards are adhered to.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Resolves end user IT related problem or escalate and follow them through until their conclusion. These could range from urgent calls requiring immediate attention to request for maintenance on hardware or information relating to the introduction of new systems.
- Participate in change management meetings, incident, queries and troubleshooting
- Candidate should show an enthusiasm for IT and be able to express this within him/her role, enabling he/she to expand the knowledge for the benefit of himself/herself as well as the department and other team members
- Willing to work on weekends and public holidays
- Assist in developing tools and methods to improve and automate existing processes
- To support the business operations on system monitoring, backup and performance troubleshooting
- Integration of supporting applications and environments
- Assisting with design, testing and implementation of backup and disaster recovery plans
- Efficient time management and handle multiple tasks, problems and tasks concurrently
- Involves in IT purchasing and invoicing
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Knowledge of TCP/IP environment
- Excellent knowledgeexperience on desktop environments (OS, email support stc.)
- Knowledge of MS Windows, Active Directory integrated DNS and DHCP
- Experience in the usetroubleshooting of Microsoft Office Applications.
- Excellent communications both written and verbal, passion for the technology and new challenges, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively with clients, IT management, and other technical staff.
- Motivated and good team player
GOOD TO HAVE:
- Possess knowledge on Backup / Restore / Disaster Recovery
- Knowledge in the market data applications such as Reuters, Bloomberg and Data stream would be useful.
- Knowledge in the E-trading applications such as GL, TT, RTS, PATS and ORC would also be an advantage.
EDUCATION:
BS Degree in Computer Science, or the equivalent in education and/or experience
CERTIFICATIONS:
Microsoft Certifications are beneficial
