We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Desktop Support Technician to work within our ITS PC Support team at our facility in Tupelo, MS.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under general direction, this position is responsible for installing, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on a variety of personal computers and peripheral devices.

Performs installations, upgrades, and backups of software and hardware applications.

Performs routine diagnosis on failed equipment and software and coordinates repairs. Identifies and reports network problems that relate to personal computers and server issues. Interfaces with vendors to resolve hardware/software issues.

Sets up and tests personal computer systems, servers, peripherals, and software for Windows environments.

Provides general hardware and software support for users, provides user training, and guides users having difficulty with personal computer peripherals or software.

Coordinates with vendors to resolve hardware/software issues and may review and recommend new hardware and software.

Prepares and maintains electronic and hardcopy reports and logs of daily tasks and projects and equipment inventories.

May assist with the Service Desk and provide telephone support or arrange for service of trouble calls to users, may provide user training.

Assists with the Desktop Support and Systems teams in an AD infrastructure.

Serves as on-site IT contact at Tupelo, MS facility and coordinates activities with remote IT management as appropriate.

Observes all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.

Works in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

Performs other duties as assigned or required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Typically requires an Associate's degree with an emphasis in Information Technology, or a related discipline, along with two or more years of progressive personal computer technical experience in an Information Technology department. May substitute a certificate in information technology from a recognized organization and equivalent experience in lieu of education.

Requires the ability to apply a comprehensive knowledge of department policies and procedures, and a comprehensive understanding of relevant current personal computers, operating systems and associated peripheral equipment.

Must demonstrate a complete understanding and knowledge of all versions of Windows OS.

Must have experience with managing a Windows environment including applicable tools and technologies within an Enterprise AD infrastructure.

Must possess the ability to exercise judgment and take the initiative to rebuild, image, troubleshoot and manage hardware and applications running on Windows including Office applications, e-mail and other critical applications.

Must demonstrate a complete understanding and knowledge of networking TCP/IP, DNS and DHCP as it relates to Windows, and application support.

Must have ability to identify and resolve a variety of moderately complex and non-routine technical matters, such as addressing virus matters and setting up or troubleshooting unique equipment or desktops per business unit specifications.

Must be able prioritize work assignments to achieve results and meet deadlines.

Must possess good analytical, verbal and written communication skills to accurately document and report findings, including completion of service tickets.

Must demonstrate good interpersonal skills to interface with all levels of employees and a variety of departments and provide excellent customer service.

Must maintain the strict confidentiality of sensitive information and be able to work independently or in a team environment.

Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to operate a company vehicle.

Must have the ability to work extended hours and travel between Company facilities as required.
