Position Description:
The Detailed Sub-Ledger is a key component of the Morgan Stanley’s Firmwide Books and Records and Control Architecture. This green field project will not just replace the existing system, but going to be a paradigm change. DSL will be integrated with all trading systems, many finance and operations systems across the firm.
As part of the multi-year and multi-million dollar initiative, the global Sub-Ledger development team will be responsible for the design and implementation of the strategic core platform. The core development will be done in Budapest working closely with colleagues in New York, London and Montreal.
In order to cope with technical challenges, we are considering using the latest technologies Java, Scala, Protobuf, Apache CXF, Hadoop, Teradata, etc. The project is in an early stage that is a rare opportunity to join to such an initiative.
We are looking for strong senior, hands-on technologists who are passionate about technology and have experience developing Java-based, enterprise-wide OLTP systems with large databases. The full-time position will be based in Budapest.
Skills Required:
- Java, RDBMS, real-time event processing and service-oriented distributed architecture
- Strong experience with server-side Java development
- Demonstrates strong OO analysis and design skills
- Demonstrates exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
Skills Desired:
- Background in database-driven applications, including SQL, table design, performance tuning
- Experience with real-time, event-driven systems and service-oriented architectures
- Experience working in multi-timezone development team
- An advanced degree in computer science or engineering
