Developer ( C# , SQL Server ) – investment banking recruitment

The Company

Robert Half Technology is seeking a high-calibre Developer for an international proprietary securities trading business in the West End of London. With a major rebuild of its trading systems in the pipeline this represent an outstanding opportunity for an Analyst / Developer to play a major role in the analysis, design, development and support of the front office and a range of middle and back office projects.

The company has a flat meritocratic structure, and by virtue of sitting near and interacting closely with all areas of the business front to back office, offers a broad scope of learning and development for the successful Developer.

The Role

The responsibilities of the role are as follows:
- Work with business stakeholders across Senior management, managers across the core business areas: Front office traders, Operations/Settlements, Compliance, Finance / Product Control, Risk, Technology - including IT counterparts in Europe North America APAC - to gather and analyse requirements.
- Development of the Front, Middle and Back Office applications creating, modifying and maintaining code as required using C# .Net, SQL Server and any other tool or language that may be required.
- Ensure that all Front, Back and Middle Office applications are working correctly.
- Provide regular progress reports on outstanding projects to the Head of IT
- Assist staff on technical, non-technical and support issues as required.
- Persistently strive to enhance knowledge of IT topics that may benefit the company or members of staff within the company.

Essential skills / experience:
- Substantial experience in C# and SQL server development and support
- Experience of architecting/designing front and back end applications
- Excellent investigation and problem solving ability, ideally graduate
- Strong written and verbal communication skills

Desirable skills / experience
- WPF development
- Visual Basic, VBA, Excel, Access development
- VB to C# migrations
- Financial Services especially securities
- Knowledge / experience of Reuters, Bloomberg APIs

Salary Benefits

£45-60,000 + bonus
