Job Description:
Software Developer II - Defined Term

Job Purpose:

Designs, develops, enhances, documents, and supports the customization of internally developed or off the shelf (OTS) software applications to meet business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Enhances, maintains and supports the development of existing applications throughout the Software Development Lifecycle according to the IS methodology, department SOP’s, team guidelines, best practices and industry standards.

Analyzes designs and develops new application software, enhances existing software and/or interfaces between applications.

Creates and maintains system documentation according to the IS methodology (proposals, designs, test specifications, and other deliverables as necessary) for new and existing applications.

Job Skills:

A seasoned, experienced professional with a complete understanding and wide application of technical principle, theories, and concepts in the field. Applies a full understanding of area of specialization to resolve a wide range of issues in creative ways. General knowledge of other related disciplines, business unit function and cross group dependencies/relationships.

Develops solutions to a wide range of difficult technical problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Exercises judgment in selecting innovative, practical methods to achieve problem resolution.

Works under general direction regarding the direction and progress of projects and special assignments. With minimal input, determines and develops approach to solutions. Interprets, executes and recommends modifications to company policies. Assists in establishing departmental technical policies and procedures. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.
