As Development DBA and Performance Engineer, you will function as the development team DBA and will oversee performance testing tuning. You will be responsible for providing high quality technology recommendations and solutions that address business needs by modifying the application. You will have responsibility for managing and optimizing the database. You will use your business knowledge and Oracle technical expertise to ensure the continued optimization of the database. You will work with developers to create optimal technical designs for new features. You will manage all changes to the database structure. You will ensure conformance with data security standards. You will review and optimize all queries. You will code and unit test complex SQL. You will work with interfacing teams to manage and trouble shoot the various development database environments. You will monitor the production database and work together with production DBA to implement improvements at the database level. You will work with the performance test team to define and execute performance testing with each software release. You will be responsible for optimizing performance across layers of the application-Windows web layer, Windows application layer, Windows batch processing, Oracle DB, and linux image server. You will develop and oversee the database production implementation plans. You will stay current with the latest Oracle features and products to be able to set future direction for Oracle database configuration and optimization. You will also be responsible for coordination with Off Shore resources. Responsibilities: Optimize existing database. Optimize existing application. Create technical designs for new features. Manage all changes to the database structure-tables, columns, views, indexes. Review and optimize all queries for new features. Ensure conformance with data security standards. Code and unit test complex SQL. Manage and trouble-shoot the development environments-development, test, UAT, performance test. Monitor the production database. Define application performance test for each release. Oversee execution of application performance test. Trouble-shoot and optimize performance across the layers of the application-Windows web layer, Windows application layer, Windows batch processing, Oracle DB, and linux image server. Develop and oversee the database production implementation plans for each release. Oversee off-shore development team activity. Set future direction for Oracle database configuration and optimization using the latest Oracle features. Examine application components to ensure adherence to Application Engineering guidelines, processes, and procedures. Utilize multiple programming languages and software technologies. Oversee code quality and standards within the application. Be involved in hands-on proof(s) of concept work involving the application. Participate and recommend application architecture decisions and help maintain a sound application architecture. Ensure conformance to Line of Business and team standards. College degree in related technical or business area, specialized training and/or equivalent work experience Strong teamwork skills Strong management and coordination skills Strong communication skills Minimum 8 years large project team experience Minimum 8 years Oracle DBA experience Minimum 8 years of web application development work experience.
