Due to growth globally our client are looking to recruit a Development Engineer to join their busy team.

MAIN FUNCTION OF THE ROLE:
Working as part of a small development team, the Development Engineer takes responsibility for the design of new products and enhancement of existing products, from concept through introduction to manufacture. The role also involves providing support to project engineers and site services personnel on a range of issues related to customer projects, as well as support to resolve issues with existing products when required.

JOB ROLE:
* Designing and implementing new product software as part of the Development team, working within the departmental processes
* Investigating and resolving issues with existing product software, arising from Production or Service
* Developing enhancements to existing product software in response to market requirements
* Supporting hardware design, implementation and manufacturing introduction requirements for software
* Supporting development of the department's software design and implementation processes and tools

OTHER DUTIES:
* Maintaining a high quality of work which is in line with company standards as a minimum, observing at all times the company Business Management System Policy
* Maintaining a professional approach to work and to relationships with colleagues
* Observing all aspects of the Company's personnel policies
* Being aware of the Company's health and safety requirements and informing the QEHS Manager of any breaches that may occur
* Ensuring that the Company housekeeping standards are met and raised if possible

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS:

ESSENTIAL:
* Experience of distributed, embedded system software design, implementation and test using appropriate development methodology
* Fluency in C for embedded applications
* Fluency in C#/ VB / Delphi / Smalltalk / Python or other industry standard languages for Windows development
* Strong technical communication and team working skills
