Development Manager B2C Job in Amsterdam, Noord Holland Netherlands
Reporting to the CTO of Northern Europe eCG, the Development Manager will drive the strategic expansion of a variety of eCommerce platforms that form the portfolio of online classifieds businesses.
The Development Manager will have a keen commercial understanding of technology. They should be experienced in and passionate about an environment where technology is the key revenue driver for the business. Experienced in scaling large technology teams and creating the technical architecture and infrastructure to deliver a great customer experience across multiple geographies and markets. The Developmet Manager will also partner closely with the rest of the leadership team to co-create the business strategy and the operational plans to deliver on the potential of this exciting business.
This responsibility includes the planning, development, and implementation of the organizations product and software development systems. The person will support various classifieds businesses, together with related software applications, and identifying and integrating technology advancements that support the organization's delivery of services and products.
Education, Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate will:
Hold a Bachelors in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
Be highly analytical and structured thinker with an excellent ability to put complex ideas into clear frameworks and to use data to drive strategic objectives and priorities.
Have substantial functional knowledge to provide technical leadership
Be a team player with excellent communication skills who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment, enjoys intellectual challenge, a fast pace and will demonstrate:
10+ years of technology management experience in a multinational and matrixed environment, with ecommerce experience being preferable
An innate understanding of technology and how to use it to provide competitive advantage that translates into building outstanding products.
The ability to lead and inspire product management and engineering professionals and succeed in a fast changing and highly competitive market, keeping the team focused on critical near-term deliverables while fostering a compelling long term vision.
A track record building and developing high performing teams and attracting and developing technology talent that focuses relentlessly on the external customer
Experience with architecting high volume web systems or complex transaction client-server systems
Experience in requirements analysis, design, development and unit testing of distributed, fault-tolerant applications with particular attention to security, scalability and high performance experience in software development
