Development Manager – Credit Risk IT recruitment

The position is for a highly motivated Development Manager with strong project management skills and a good understanding of equity derivatives and/or counterparty credit risk.  You will lead the team which is split between London and Mumbai and work closely with the global Credit Risk Quantitative Analysts.

Key responsibilities for the role are:

• Delivery of the equity derivatives credit exposure project – including system, integration and user acceptance testing.

• Supervising a team of development staff, monitoring their progress against assigned tasks and reporting the project status and progress to senior management.

• Level 2 and 3 System and User support management within the development team;

Required Skills

• Proven project management of major systems implementations and upgrades.

• Strong Counterparty Credit Risk experience.

• Proven analysis and decision-making skills – ability to capture and understand business requirements.

• Planning organisation skills – manage projects to a budget and timescale.

• Preparation and presentation of documentation that can be understood by non-technical business users.

• Interact with staff at all levels, empathise with their needs and enthuse them.

• Personal drive – demonstrates energy, initiative and stamina to achieve and exceed targets and motivate colleagues.

• Leadership skills - organize and lead teams of internal developers and external consultants/contractors across geographical sites.

• Experienced in the use of project management software.

• Strong communication skills.

Desirable Skills 

• Knowledge of distributed processing on a computational server farm.

• Experience of IMM or similar (e.g. IRB) projects.

• Development background, particularly in a C++ Linux/Unix environment and with knowledge of Perl.
