Development Manager
The PACCAR Parts Development Manager is responsible for leading a team of software developers supporting multiple development projects and applications. The team consists of 15 software developers covering multiple technologies. The primary Parts application runs on an IBM iSeries platform. In addition, the group supports applications written in .Net and other 3rd party packaged solutions. The primary function of the group is to support existing Parts Business applications and to drive innovation with new applications and functionality. The Parts Division aggressively leverages technology to drive business growth and this position is critical to the continuation of that success. Job Functions / Responsibilities This position is responsible for providing strong technical leadership, instruction, and mentoring to the team and projects as well as: Setting the development direction for the Division and working with the global development community to improve practices across PACCAR. Managing performance, ensuring proper training and development, and actively participating in recruitment; Developing and applying consistent, standardized development processes that are regularly updated through lessons learned from previous projects; Participating and recommending the selection of standardized development tools. Promoting teamwork and providing direction for team members to complete projects on time and within budget. Identifying areas for improvement and assisting in refining standards and procedures. Participating in software product reviews. Participating in the preparation and maintenance of accurate resource plans, project schedules and budgets, software functional specifications and other documentation. Following and applying the development of new technical principles, theories, concepts, techniques, and processes.
