Development Manager - Top Tier Investment Bank - SVP / Director Level
Working within the Risk PnL environment on an upgrade / roll out programme of both Risk and Pricings systems across the various asset classes throughout the IB.
The right candidate should demonstrate strong Dev Management experience within a challenging environment. Risk experience although very useful is not essential but an appreciation of its role would be key. (Intraday Risk or Portfolio Risk experience would be a large advantage)
A strong pragmatic approach is required for the role due to the evolutionary nature of the projects.A strong Dev background, tech appreciation and good architectural understanding is important.
Although a hands off role the position does require a good eye for strong coding and to be able to identify gaps and to improve processes.
Working closely with Senior Busines/ Stakeholders it is vitally important to display excellent communication skills.

Core Java (J2SE)
C++
C#.net (doesn't need to be significant)
Experience/Exposure:
- Very strong technical design skills,
- Strong Java background spanning Java 1.4-1.6 server side development, including multi-threaded applications
- UNIX/Linux development
- SQL Database development (Oracle and/or Sybase)
- Confident, articulate, enthusiastic and able to operate independently
- Very strong written and oral communication skills to wide ranging audiences from offshore developers to traders are essential
- Hibernate / Coherence / JMS all beneficial
- Maven / Hudson beneficial.
- Knowledge of Risk PNL would be beneficial but specific financial product knowledge is not absolutely essential.
- The candidate would ideally show a clear understanding of the banking environment, a strong interest in financial markets and be highly proactive hence a banking background is preferable.
- Experience communicating directly with users and clients in a high pressure environment is a significant advantage.
- Experience within a global team working with colleagues and clients in numerous worldwide locations would be beneficial.
