Development Manager - Cash Management - Tier One IB

Our tier one investment banking client are currently recruiting for a senior development manager to manage and build a team of of c30 people within cash management and reconcilliations technology.

The role itself falls within the Cash Management and Reconciliations technology group and is a part of the wider IB Tech back office organisation which supports the core back office applications systems for the Investment Bank. In addition the Cash Management and Reconciliations team support Treasury and Security Services operations and it is without doubt one of the most critical of programs currently running in the investment bank. Upon joining it will be your task to design and build a time critical project with using a medium to large distributed team.  

Key Responsibilities
• Provides strong technical leadership mentoring to a mixed discipline onshore and offshore technology team of c25 people
• Partner with senior technologists to define the strategic vision for the CM applications.
• Focus on continuous improvement of the end to end software development process.
• Partner with the banks offshore vendors to deliver high quality software.
• Excellent day to day resource management skills with a proven delivery record.
• Drive team to deliver top quality UAT and production support.
• People focus through provision of quality appraisal and career planning for onshore and offshore teams.

Skills required
• Ability to prioritise and time-manage own work and that of other team members.

• Technical experience with Oracle database applications and the use of SQL, PL/SQL, Adobe FLEX (preferred), JAVA/J2EE, JAVA/JSE, MQ and ETL techniques.

• Previous experience with financial institutions preferably an investment bank.

• An understanding of financial instruments
