Development Manager-Risk Engine-Risk IT-Tier 1 Investment Bank
Senior Technologist required for Development Manager role within Risk IT for Tier 1 Investment Bank-covering a number of business critical work streams within Risk IT.
The Risk Engine team are responsible for the calculation and reporting of Risk and PL data across a wide range of businesses, predominantly Rates, Credit and EM, currently expanding to include Equities amongst others. The stakeholders sit in the front office who require the valuations in order to identify an exploit trading opportunities.
The Development Manager will be a senior technologist with Maths of Physics background and a strong foundation in Java or C++, though Java is the main language used. There can be some element of coding in this role but likely only 20% or less if desired, or more if desired. You will work as a Java Development Manager working on the business deliverables for the core RiskEngine platform and for ancillary applications, including the real-time risk system. This role will involve new business adoption and general new features as required by the business.
You will be responsible for team on onshore developers as well as a number of other developers in Russia, India and Spain. This is not an architect role but you will have very strong technical design skills and be an expert in Java, spanning Java 1.4-1.6 server side development, including multi-threaded applications. Exposure to UNIX/Linux development and SQL Database development (Oracle and/or Sybase) is also of use.
