Development Manager – Web Portal recruitment
This exciting position exists within the ‘Central Programs’ function, which is part of the Operations IT Production Services IT organisation.
The purpose of Operations IT is to support the development and support of bespoke applications used primarily by the Operations organisation. It consists of four business functions (FX, Securities, Derivatives, Margin and Instrument Data) with a global user base.
There are a number of programs of work which span cross-function and cross division, and the ‘Central Programs’ function is being built to service those requirements from the receipt of the requirement through to the build, delivery and on-going execution of any automated solutions.

- Capacity Management
- Project Management across the Investment Bank
- Release Management
- Weekly / Monthly Key Indicators for IT Management
- Weekly / Monthly Key Indicators for Business Management
- Process alignment and support of organisation transformation
- Audit burn-down tracking
- BCM Reporting
- Other analysis projects
Key responsibilities for the successful candidate will include:
- Understanding the purpose of the automated metrics solution, designing the application to meet this
- Taking responsibility for the build of the solution, communicating to all involved parties and ensuring a suitable level of quality is delivered on time
- Becoming the driving force for the technical delivery of the Application
- Taking responsibility for the execution of the application in the production domain
- Managing changes to the solution once implemented
Job Requirements
As the ideal candidate you are a hands-on development manager with proven experience in managing a team within an Investment Banking environment.
Essential experience includes:
- Proven experience of running a web based development team managing projects through the complete software development lifecycle
- An appreciation of system architecture hence ensuring we build a robust, scalable and flexible end solution
- Proven track record of successful project delivery
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required to manage relationships with senior stakeholders both within IT and the Operations business
- Experience working in an Agile environment

- Comfortable owning the end technical solution from conception to implementation
- Able to inspire and motivate others into producing quality solutions
- Good at planning and organising, having an excellent attention to detail
- Able to implement a suitable test strategy around the application
