Job Description:

Development Operations Officer
Location: Great Falls, MT

We are a non-profit research organization specializing in Parkinsons disease, Alzheimers disease, and other neurological disorders, is seeking a talented individual for an executive leadership position.

The Development and Operations Officer reports directly to the Director of the organization.

What you need for this position:

-Bachelor’s degree required.
-Have proven experience in fund-raising.
-Knowledge of planned giving techniques, prospect research and financial management.
-In-depth experience with organizing and coordinating volunteers
-Have experience in public relations
-Experience with not-for-profit organizations or experience in a business
-Marketing or public relations-related field.
-Must use considerable initiative, judgment, professionalism, and discretion in handling confidential material.
-Strong organizational, oral and written communication, and social skills are essential, along with the enthusiasm and confidence required for this challenging, multifaceted position.

What you'll be doing:

-Will generate funds through fund-raising activates such as grant writing; individual, corporate and private foundation gifts; special events; capital gifts; and planned giving.
-Will develop and maintain ongoing programs in the areas of fund-raising and public relations in order to identify and cultivate contributors to support operational costs, capital projects, and the endowment.
-Will coordinate and prepare all publications as they relate to fund-raising activities; including but not limited to: annual report, quarterly newsletters and press releases.
-Will provide appropriate donor recognition and publicity.
-Will assist the Board and NDC in networking with potential donors and volunteers.
-Will assist in determining annual development income and be responsible for administering and maintaining the Advancement Office expense budget.
-Will provide to the Director and Board of Trustees on a regular basis progress reports on the Advancement Office activities.
-Will maintain a cooperative liaison with the Financial Office in regard to coordination and processing of donor contributions.
-Will attend Board and committee meetings and perform other duties assigned by the Director.
-Will help establish and maintain Institute alliances with other organizations.
-Will help identify corporate sponsored research programs.
-The position involves extensive interaction with members of the Institutes Board of Directors and National Development Council.
-Responsibilities include development, implementation, and oversight of all fundraising and public relations programs.
-Operations responsibilities include maintaining relations with Board and Council members and coordination of their meetings, educating state and federal representatives on funding issues, and supervising administrative staff and contract personnel. Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the Director.
