DEVELOPMENT OFFICER West Texas AM University is seeking qualified applicants for a Development Officer in the College of Business. This individual will be responsible for: *Identification and personal solicitation of major gift prospective donors; *Developing marketing strategies and campaign materials for their assigned college; *Prepare proposals for foundations and corporate prospects; *Assist with the planning and preparation of special events; *Assist with the development and operation of the advisory committees for assigned college; *Engage in identification, research and personal solicitation for assigned major prospects. Necessary qualifications include: *Bachelor's degree; *1 to 3 years' experience in development, communications, or public relations; *An understanding of information systems and databases; *Experience working with volunteers; *Strong interpersonal and communication skills, effective listening and persuasive writing; *Willingness to work some evenings and weekends and be willing to work special hours as needed; *Some travel involved.
