RESPONSIBILITIES KEY OBJECTIVES

Subsurface Analysis and Static Model Building:

- Collect, QC and analyze geologic and production data from existing wells.
- Integrate the well and production data, in conjunction with 3D seismic, into relevant structural and stratigraphic framework for static model building. Distribute and model properties in accordance with sound geologic and reservoir engineering principles, using geostatistical and other techniques.
- Contribute to the up-scaling and input of the models to reservoir simulation and interact with reservoir engineers in the simulation and development planning process.

Development Planning:
- Work with drilling teams to design well trajectories using well planning software.
- Participate in the compilation and design of field development plans.
Near-Field Exploration:
- Continuously evaluate potential value-adding opportunities in and around the development acreage.

Drilling Project Planning:
- Working with the GG and drilling teams to design well trajectories using well planning software
- Define workscope and coordinate tender process for GG related services.
- Drafting of geological well prognoses and well applications for submission to regulatory bodies.
- Preparing and presenting GG material for prespud meetings.

Operations:
- Form primary communication link between geoscience team and field operations. Effective line manager to wellsite geologist. Requires daily liaison with drilling manager and GG related contractors.
- Remote monitoring of drilling activities, providing geological expertise, logistical support and critical real-time decisions on well placement and data acquisition.
- Responsible for the QC, distribution, archiving and real time interpretation of well data (mudlogging, wireline/LWD, WSG data).
- Checking wireline job tickets/invoices.
- Reservoir surveillance
- Drafting of end of well reports.
- Presentation of drilling results to peers and management.
- Mentoring/supervision of junior staff.

EDUCATION:

Graduate in technical discipline, preferably with a first Bachelor’s degree in Geology or Degree in a GeoScience technical discipline. Master’s degree in Geology is preferred.

JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS EXPERIENCE:
Demonstrable technical expertise, in particular, significant experience in reservoir geology and in development of static models using well and seismic data integrated with reservoir information.

Should be ideally familiar with formation evaluation, sequence stratigraphic concepts and seismic data interpretation and mapping. Petrel experience would be a significant positive, especially as it related to model building.

Successful candidates should have basic understanding of production geology, including interpretation of fluid, test and pressure data. Familiarity with methods geostatistics and mapping.

Candidates should have background of wellsite and operations geology.

Must have good proficiency with MS Office suite - Excel/Powerpoint/Word.

Good verbal and written communication skills.

Demonstrable technical expertise, in particular, significant experience in the development of operations involving landing of horizontal wells and geosteering drain hole sections.

Should be familiar with workstation-based well log correlation, seismic data and well trajectory planning (Petrel ideally preferred).

Successful candidates should have up to date knowledge on LWD technology with an evident high level of proficiency in quick look petrophysical log interpretation and analysis of RFT data.

Preferably candidates would have a background in wellsite geology.

Must have good proficiency with MS Office suite - Excel/Powerpoint/Word.

This role will require the ability to be on 24/7 call often working unsociable hours during critical drilling periods.
