RESPONSIBILITY LEVEL:
Under general direction, and in accordance with sound engineering practices and department processes. Leads and develops application and system holistic test strategies and plans. This includes working with Engineering/Development, DBAs, Global Infrastructure, and associated infrastructure hosting service providers.
Other activities include associated holistic QA anomaly reporting and verification that anomalies have been resolved.
The ideal candidate should have a proven track record experienced in Application, Platform and Data system testing and familiarity if basic IT infrastructure and operational topologies.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
1. Works with Engineering and Development Test and QA teams to validate and ensure quality and stability deliverable from a system perspective and release readiness to Operations.
2. Develop collaborative testing programs that address areas in new release, upgrades, patches, and schema changes across Application, Infrastructure, and Data arenas.
3. Address cross-functional team testing strategies around software scenarios, integration testing, regression testing, negative testing, error or bug retests, or usability within the DevOps community and agile deliverables.
4. Develop or specify standards, methods, criteria and/or procedures to determine product quality or system release readiness. Then Track, Monitor, Analyze and Gate accordingly
5. Design/Document system test plans, scenarios, scripts, or procedures to ensure/monitor quality compliance with release criteria..
6. Schedule and conduct software and cross-topology compatibility tests with applications, Infrastructure, operating systems, network environments, and/or data stores.
7. Align with Operations to execute system and application validation testing and ensure program quality installation
8. Participate in application/system design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent experience required.
· 10 plus years in an Engineering Software development environment with a focus on quality/test
· Two years experience specifically within Development, IT and Operations atmospheres.
· Deep Test and automated test tools proficiency (Microsoft Test Manager, Team Foundation Server).
· Experienced with testing Applications and Infrastructure that is hosted in a Data Center.
· Strong understanding and practice of System level testing.
· Strong manual testing proficiency- software quality assurance testing techniques, methodologies and best practices - model based test design, test automation, and test design patterns.
· Strong Organizational skills and Time management
· Excellent communication skills are required.
· Familiar with Microsoft Development and application stack/ products is required.
Desired Qualifications
· An understanding of modern engineering principles is desired
· Understanding and Experienced around the SCRUM agile methodology
· Minimum two years experience within in a Software as a Service(SaaS) background.
· Communications, networking, and systems integration experience is highly preferred.
· Service (SaaS) Delivery and Operational familiarity
· Exhibits characteristics that show the ability to lead, drive, and adapt.
