Develop environments, infrastructure and test plans to accommodate both full chip and stand alone block level verification and debug capabilities. Based on thorough understanding of the design architecture, develop, run and debug assembly based directed tests and random exercisers to validate functionality and testability operation of the microprocessor design leveraging C/C++/Perl/assembly programming, logic design and simulation skill set. Participate in development of formal verification techniques. Resolve all simulation discrepancies and assertion responses for both behavioral and gate level logic models. Measure and analyze coverage terms, address exposed weaknesses to meet design/project quality objectives. Develop infrastructure for pattern generation used in post silicon device validation and characterization. When presented with post-silicon issues, replicate design responses using pre-silicon infrastructure and provide debug expertise to ensure complete validation and characterization success. Drive project deliverables/dependencies with cross-discipline/site RTL, DFT and Implementation design teams along with product manufacturing teams. Proven programming proficiency in x86 assembly, C/C++ Additional Job Info: - In-depth of experience with DFT, should include: - Memory Built-In-Self-Test (MBIST), JTAG, Scan... Candidates must be able to describe: - The parts of an MBIST controller (address generator, data generator and read/write controls) - What type of march algorithm was used for MBIST. - JTAG standard, if so describe purpose of JTAG (mainly for chip interconnect testing but is commonly used to access and control internal chip registers) along with state machine operation. - Describe a Scan structure and operation - either MuxD or LSSD based. - Describe what chip debug functions you may have verified or has done work with. (Sun Sparc microprocessors have a lot of debug capability. FYI, some of my team members worked at Sun doing verification).
