Dietary Technician (2 Positions) Job in Orlando 32801, Florida US

Nemours is seeking a Dietary Technician to join our team at the Nemours Children's Hospital in Orlando, Florida.

Responsible for assistance with menu planning, preparation and delivery of patient formula, and nutrition care of patients under the supervision of a Registered Dietitian.

Under the supervision of a Registered Dietitian:

·         Assists patients with food selection and menu planning.

·         Obtains and evaluate dietary histories.

·         Assist with nutrition assessment, intervention, monitoring and evaluation of nutrition care plans.

·         Conducts nutrition in-services for food service personnel.

·         Able to read, write and perform necessary mathematical skills to correctly calculate and follow formula recipes and prepare infant formulas.

·         Prepares and delivers all infant formulas as ordered.

·         Inventories and maintains sufficient infant feeding room stock.

·         Maintains sanitation in formula room area.

·         Regularly interacts with dietitians, nurses, unit secretaries, foodservice personnel, patients and  family members.

·         Remains knowledgeable of HIPPA and OSHA/Safety Regulations.

·         Supports the concepts and principles of Patient and Family Centered Care.

·         Adheres to the Nemours Standards of Behavior.

·         Attends appropriate  seminars/conferences related to position and field

·         Any other duties as assigned.

Requirements

·         Completed a dietetic technician program by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education(CADE) of the American Dietetic Association and a  minimum of two year associate's degree at U.S. regionally accredited university or college OR completed coursework in a CADE-accredited didactic program or coordinated program in dietetics and has completed at least a bachelor's degree at a U.S. regionally accredited college or university.

·         Passed a national examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration
