Digital Asset Management (DAM) System Specialists

Location: Oxford

Salary: 35k to 50k basic + benefits (depending on experience)

My client is a leader in online publishing and e-learning solutions operating Worldwide.
Due to their exciting expansion plans they currently have requirements for Digital Asset Management specialists to join their team. These roles will take the form of a Manager who will have responsibility for the DAM system and an Analyst who will be working closely with the Manager focusing on technical/user issues.

DESCRIPTION OF MINIMUM JOB TASKS

Participates in the development of procedure and directly manages the disposition, and safekeeping of files to be posted to my client's DAM system.

As there are effectively 2 roles to fill, the nature of the task will include the following:-

• Quality check and approval for all digital files provided by different internal business units for posting to DAM.
• Prepares descriptions and reference aids for use of archives, such as lists, indexes, and guides, cross indexes materials as required to find archived material.
• Analyses and evaluates print and/or non-print materials; coordinates the archiving, cataloging, maintenance, and preservation of valuable material.
• Plans and builds archives, including participation in the establishment and implementation of standards for the archive.
• Advises and assists importers in the process of archiving and importing their projects in DAM.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

• Digital Asset Management System expertise is essential, either in a management or analyst capacity.
• Knowledge of archival concepts, methodology, and techniques.
• Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.
• Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities a must.
• Ability to develop and maintain indices, and other reference guides and materials.
• Ability to assess objectives and develop and implement suitable archive procedures.
• Under indirect supervision, plans, organizes, maintains, and preserves print and/or non- other reference guides and materials. Ability to assess objectives and develop and implement suitable archive procedures.
• Mac / PC proficient

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS:

Positions require: a) Knowledge of archiving concepts, methodology and techniques; b) following and maintaining established procedures for archiving; c) utilization of detailed knowledge of projects to prepare descriptions and finding aids; e) developing and implementing procedures for the processing and preservation of archives.
