Digital Communications Engineer IV
Location: ATK has multiple career opportunities available with a rapidly growing research and development group with locations in Monterey, CA and Beltsville, MD.
Job Description:
ATK Aerospace Systems has multiple career opportunities for a Senior Digital Communications Engineer to engage in leading-edge research and development in the area of digital communications and signal processing with emphasis in 3G/4G wireless protocols. Responsibilities include:
- Development of digital communications algorithms;
- Implementation of real-time algorithms in Python / C++ on Linux platforms;
- Representation of ideas in the form of white papers and technical reports;
- Close interaction with software development team.
Minimum Requirements:
- B.Sc. with a minimum of 7 years of experience or a M.Sc. with a minimum of 5 years of experience required for a level IV.
- Major in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or other related major preferred.
- Experience in digital communication and digital signal processing including modulation, detection, estimation, and coding.
- Experience in real-time digital signal processing algorithms.
- Ability to obtain and maintain any required Government issued security clearance including a TS/SCI and polygraph is required, which usually requires US Citizenship as a pre-requisite.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of LTE and UMTS wireless protocols
- Software development experience with Python / C++
- Experience with the Linux development environment
- Experience in simulation and analysis using MATLAB
- Active or re-instatable TS/SCI clearance and lifestyle polygraph
Competencies for success:
- Good written and verbal communications skills
This job can be filled as a Level III or Level IV Digital Communications Engineer (Lower requirements apply for Level III).
