Digital Marketing Manager

Central Garden Pet Company (NASDAQ:CENT), a leading innovator, marketer and producer of quality branded products for the pet, lawn and garden supplies markets, is seeking a Digital Marketing Manager to join our Pet Nutrition Division in our Pet Segment located in Walnut Creek, CA.

The Digital Marketing Manager will lead the development of digital strategy and build capability for the Pet Nutrition Business Unit. This includes building brands through new media, developing robust social media, CRM programs, and e-commerce, and leading the thinking for platform development: website technology, mobile, databases, etc. In addition, this role will ensure that digital efforts are integrated seamlessly into the marketing mix and business plans.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Drive the vision and thought leadership on how to best reach our consumer through this robust and ever changing channel. Develop and recommend a multi-year digital strategy, plans and roadmap, particularly through social media, CRM, and the use of Mobile technologies.

·         Develop an e-commerce strategy and oversee execution with a digital agency.

·         Lead efforts to optimize brand websites based on brand strategies.

·         Provide subject matter expertise to the brand teams to ensure that digital is fully integrated with other parts of the marketing mix to provide a seamless experience to our consumers.

·         Identify ‘test and learn’ opportunities for all emerging digital areas.

·         Collaborate with Director of Digital Strategy as well as Digital Managers from other Business Units, to share learnings and train/educate the balance of the organization.

·         Develop management dashboards and scorecards related to all things digital to provide a line of sight for current activities.

·         Benchmark competitors to ensure we stay current with developing digital strategies as well as stay abreast of best practices.

·         Participate in external forums to keep abreast of industry trends.

·         Help manage digital agencies for planning and execution.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/EDUCATION:

·         College degree (BA/BS); MBA preferred

·         8-10 years Digital Marketing experience; CPG Brand Management experience a plus

·         Ability and confidence to interact with Senior Management in formal presentations

·         Understanding and passion for horses a plus.

·         Strong understanding of digital marketing and the application to CPG.

·         Experience desired in loyalty/CRM marketing, social media, SEO/SEM, and e-commerce. Pro-active, collaborative, creative, energetic, and passionate about the potential of the opportunity.

·         Consumer minded, with demonstrated experience in building strategies and plans centered around consumer/customer needs.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

·         Based in Walnut Creek. 

·         Requires the ability to travel (at least 30% of the time).
