Digital Marketing Manager, EMEA Job in London, London UK
This is an opportunity to join the marketing team at one of the world’s most successful developers of satellite navigation apps for iOS and Android smartphones and tablets.
Reporting to the Head of Consumer Applications, you’ll be responsible for developing and executing effective international digital marketing campaigns to engage a large installed user base, and to acquire new customers in a highly competitive environment.
You will have proven digital marketing experience within a consumer facing business or agency. You’ll need to be enthusiastic about mobile technology and understand the dynamics of app stores. You will have your finger on the pulse of social media trends and channels, able to execute successful and engaging community-driven campaigns at the cutting edge of mobile marketing.
The Role:
- Social Media/Community management. Responsibility for defining and executing social media strategy and creating content. With a true understanding of how social media can help brands establish a close relationship with customers, you’ll be responsible for developing existing channels such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube to engage existing customers and acquire new ones. You’ll be able to deliver creative campaigns, and be able to interact directly with customers – handling both positive and negative comments efficiently and professionally.
- App Store Management. You’ll already be familiar with the dynamics of the iTunes and Android app stores, and understand what it takes to make a product stand out in these rapidly evolving sales channels. You’ll be responsible for managing all aspects of app presentation on a variety of app stores, including iTunes and Google Play. You’ll be able to develop and maintain compelling app descriptions, app images, videos and promotional text in up to 10 languages, working with internal translators and agencies to hit tight deadlines.
- Blogger Engagement and PR. A key part of the role is to manage relationships with key tech bloggers, journalists and influencers, ensuring that the app is being discussed and mentioned in a wide variety of online locations and forums. You’ll be responsible for day to day management of external PR agencies to reach higher value media targets, while establishing direct relationships with others. You’ll be able to present the product credibly to a tech savvy audience in person or via email.
- Web site content management. You’ll be responsible for maintaining and developing all aspects of the app’s online presence, working with the in-house web development team to ensure that the product is presented in an appealing and engaging way on the European web sites. You’ll ensure consistency across the company’s European web sites, coordinating localisation.
- Online content. You’ll be responsible for bringing the app to life online, working with internal and external designers to create imagery and videos that excite and engage potential customers.
The person:
- Degree educated, you’ll be commercially minded, with at least 4 years experience in a consumer-facing or agency environment
- Proven digital and social media marketing experience
- Excellent understanding of current online marketing strategy and best practice
- Excellent writing and editing skills. Able to originate creative content and describe technical features in a consumer-friendly and informal manner
- Outstanding communicator, you’ll be able to build relationships at all levels internally and externally
- A genuine interest in mobile technology trends and app store dynamics. We’ll provide you with an iPhone, although you’ll probably have one (or an Android phone) already
- A demonstrable understanding of effective social media tactics and mechanisms
- Highly organised self-starter, able to work with minimum supervision and able to work effectively with remote teams via Skype or FaceTime
- Willing to travel internationally up to 10% of the time - to events, partners and the corporate HQ in USA
- Proven ability to manage agency relationships
- Able to plan and execute campaigns, adapt to changes and analyse effectiveness
- Highly proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel
- French and/or Italian speaker would be an advantage
