My client is a leading UK retail bank. As part of their overall digital strategy they require someone with a background in digital who can assist with the oversight of potential risks, both operational and regulatory. Whilst training and guidance can be offered on the speicifcs of regulation a knowledg eof digital and the technical risk associated is essential.

The team provides second line compliance oversight to UK Retail projects, product development and sales process, identifying conduct risk and challenging standards at each stage of the Product Lifecycle.

In this role you will provide second line challenge and oversight to the UK Retail Digital channel and ensure all customer propositions and associated customer processes have been sufficiently assessed to manage significant regulatory and reputational risks, supporting the business to implement appropriate mitigating controls where necessary. Additionally, deploy expertise on Payment Services Regulations to oversee and challenge compliance with these regulations across UK Retail.

The competing tensions of a difficult economic environment, a fast changing regulatory environment at national EU level and the evolving focus from the FCA on the responsibilities firms have when delivering products to consumers are creating new challenges for the businesses we support. Simultaneously, there is a push across the industry to innovate in the sphere of digital and mobile services, in particular payment services The FCA is very focused on this following issues experienced and future innovations need to be robust to avoid the risk of regulator sanction. These issues also demonstrate that the gains from these innovations can be offset if they are not effectively risk managed. Compliance with PSRs is the subject of regulatory scrutiny. Expertise and focus on PSRs will enhance the team's ability to challenge effectively to ensure compliance across UK Retail.
