The Director Business Services Operations is responsible for Foundation wide functions related to eligibility and benefit verification, point of service collections, billing and coding compliance, revenue capture, specialty and ancillary referral processing. Integration, development and standardization of policies and practices at all foundation locations are essential. This role requires ongoing interaction and partnership with Scripps leadership, medical group leadership, payers and providers. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining a team of knowledgeable and talented individuals who can build and sustain credibility with Scripps Health leadership and Scripps Medical Group physicians. The Director must stay apprised of regulations, compliance activities and correct coding guidelines, especially as they relate to the billing and coding activities provided by Scripps Medical Foundation Business Services. Participation in annual and long term planning with the Senior Director, Foundation CFO, Scripps leadership team and members of the medical group is essential. The Director works under the direction of and in partnership with the Sr Director SMF Busines Services.
Minimum 5 years in health care management, 10 years professional billing experience. Proven ability to create, implement and monitor plans. Extensive knowledge in the entire revenue cycle process.
Strong demonstrated knowledge of professional billing and various healthcare requirements including access, coding, billing, collections, practice management systems, payer relations, appeals, authorization process, and proven leadership. Five (5) years supervisory and management experience in healthcare business service areas. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Bachelor’s Degree preferred. CPC beneficial.
