Dir Network Telephony Job Summary Responsible for supporting the network infrastructure, IT Network operations, telecommunications (voice and data) systems (PBX, Wireless, Video conferencing, Audio conferencing, web conferencing, etc.) for all locations. Responsible for the overall coordination, direction and evaluation of the Network, Voice and Data Communications Operations staff. Responsible for directing the design, procurement, installation, administration and enterprise service levels of voice and data communication networks. Schedules and approves all production changes to the network, including the addition and removal of equipment, configuration changes, routing policy changes and switch and router software upgrades. Responsible for ensuring that the enterprise has the capability to support new technologies and maintain high levels of network performance and reliability. The director is accountable for delivery of network capacity inclusive of voice network and for Managed Hosting Storage. Job Responsibilities (listed in order of importance and/or time spent) Translates the vision into actionable steps for the leadership team. Oversees the operation of all LAN connections at all locations including switches, routers, firewalls, IDS / IDP, with oversight for administering the corporate LAN and WAN. Oversees the operation of all the WAN circuits, including: - IP and Frame Relay circuits to remote sites. - Dedicated leased lines to various customers. - VPN links to various customers and remote sites. - Voice trunk lines (T1, T3) to the PBXs at the headquarters and branch office locations. - VoIP connections between locations. Directs the on-going operation of the companys voice networking infrastructure (wireline and wireless), which includes PBXs and conferencing devices and services (e.g., bridges, voice/web conferencing services) with responsibility for the corporate fixed line voice and mobility systems. Defines, measures, and analyzes key metrics to assess effectiveness of the overall network support infrastructure. Performs analysis of business and technical operation improvement opportunities. Implements and maintains a highly available, stable, scalable and highly secure data and telephony network throughout the Walgreens store, data center, distribution, call center and corporate campus locations. Ensures tight integration between the IVR/telephony network and the IVR applications to meet the needs of Walgreens store and call center locations. Oversees system operations and facility environments, with responsibility for all Network Service functions. Oversees voice / PBX communications, wide area networks (WAN), local area networks (LAN), and messaging solutions with responsibility for Voice and Data Network Communication Services. Partners with all management teams and builds strong customer satisfaction with clients/business users. Ensures that work performed is consistent with corporate IT strategies and standards. Basic Qualifications Interests Bachelors Degree and at least 10 years of experience in IT with at least 5 years in Network and Telephony OR a High School Diploma/GED and at least 15 years of experience in IT with at least 10 years in Network and Telephony At least 3 years of experience in leadership managing multiple, large, cross-functional team or projects. Experience with monitoring tools and network segmentation. Experience in the planning, design, implementation and management of wired/wireless network and telephony infrastructure technologies; IP Addressing Schemes, QoS, DCHP, DNS, routers, switches, firewalls, access points and WAN Acceleration. Experience utilizing network and telephony management tools; HP SIM, Cisco Works, CA UniCenter. At least 5 years of experience planning, developing, and managing departmental expense and capital budgets. At least 5 years of experience directly managing people, including hiring, developing, motivating, and directing people as they work Willing to travel at least 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).
