Direct Care Professional Job
Be a part of creating meaningful, independent and productive lives for children and adolescents who receive services from our caring staff in Chuluota, Cocoa, and Viera, FL. We have a current opening for a part time direct care professional. The direct care professional position will allow you to find purpose and give you room to grow in the largest not-for-profit provider of services to children and families in Florida.
All Direct Care Professionals are expected to implement our Philosophy of Care which is to provide:
- Individual Services
- Effective and Accountable Services
- Utilize Positive Approaches
Shift Available: 1st (7 a.m.-3 p.m.) and 2nd shift (3 p.m.-11 p.m.), and 3rd (11 p.m.-7 a.m.) and be able to work weekends and on holidays.
As a Direct Care Professional, you will be expected to actively assist your assigned clients in the participation, involvement and routine of their individualized program.
Examples include but are not limited to:
- Personal hygiene
- Chores and Room Care
- Peer Interaction and Socialization (i.e. appropriate social interactions, practicing taking turns and working an s a team member)
- Meal Preparation
- Recreation activities
- Assist in School Work
- Medication Administration

Requirements:
- Must be able to complete a two week new hire orientation class; hours are approximately 8:45 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day
- High school diploma
- Valid Florida driver’s license
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, Social Work and experience in the field is preferred
- Volunteer work may substitute for experience
