Direct Custody APAC Regional Product Head recruitment
Business Overview:
Over the next five years, JP Morgan is embarking on a program to expand its existing Direct custody and clearing footprint with Asia Pacific identified as the key region of focus. It intends to become one of the top 3 providers in each market building a best in class capability to provide clients with a consistent and integrated solution that will enable them to mitigate risk by operating across different markets with a single custodian.
Overview of the Role:
The DCC APAC Regional Head will lead, promote and manage the DCC franchise in the region and ensure that we execute against the strategy of building a market leading business for JP Morgan and third party clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Management:
- Regional PL management including profitability and operating efficiencies
- Manage regional product development and investment initiative prioritization
- Define and maintain product strategy and standard product offering
- Manage product enhancements, NBIA's and business cases
- Competitive positioning, current and future
- Product risk and controls
- Regulatory agenda and impact on JP Morgan and clients
- Representation at industry forums
- Agree an operating model that ensures optimal use of regional vs. in-country infrastructures
- Management responsibility and development of all DCC staff in the region
- Client retention and satisfaction
Product Development:
- Manage features functions of core services across DCC
- Maintain consistency in the service definition of the product across the markets
- Assess the competitive positioning of features and functions of core services and agree prioritization of changes
- Assessing requests to change the core services and solution new service features and functions
- Support NBIA submissions impacting the product tower
- Define and support business case production in support of major investment initiatives
Product Delivery:
- Program management for investment initiatives and major change programs
- Establishing project governance in accordance with group standards
- Co-ordination across all impacted departments and functions ensuring key milestones are hit and interdependencies are known and managed appropriately
- Roll out of new markets and ensuring a repeatable process and the right team are in place to enable a smooth and rapid implementation.
- Ensure rapid resolution by management of hot spots
- Post implementation reporting on business case realization
Skills
- Minimum 8-10 years in the securities services business, and direct experience with sub-custody in the region
- Demonstrated ability to partner well and work across business lines
- Excellent analytic and communication skills
- Strong knowledge of market infrastructure in emerging markets
- Excellent project management skills, and proven ability execute against deliverables
- Ability to understand clients' needs, strategy and gaps to identify service solutions
- Experience in managing a team across multiple markets
