Direct Investments Associate recruitment
Direct Investments is responsible for managing Swiss Re’s existing portfolio of private equity investments, and to evaluate and execute financial investments, strategic investments and corporate development transactions on behalf of Swiss Re Group. A global team of experienced investment professionals monitors the existing portfolio, makes new investments, sells existing positions and executes corporate development transactions. The focus of the investments is to (re-) insurance or insurance related companies.
The Direct Investments EMEA team, which focuses on Europe, Middle East and African opportunities, seeks to add an Associate with the following responsibilities and tasks:
• Perform general market research to identify attractive investment themes and contribute to the development of the investment agenda
• Analyze specific investment opportunities and prepare proposals, including financial modelling, valuation, comparable company analysis, etc.
• Participate in due diligence and execution of direct investments and corporate development projects, including interaction with external advisors and coordination with internal functions and experts
• Support monitoring of the existing portfolio, including preparation of regular reports
• Develop network within the private equity community, financial advisors, and Swiss Re
Profile
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics
• Insurance or financial services expertise strongly desired
• Advanced Excel, Word and PowerPoint knowledge
• Expertise in financial modelling, analysis and valuation methodologies
• Analytical rigour, reliable, accurate and with an attention to detail
• Strong project management skills with an ability to work independently and proactively on multiple projects and to strict deadlines
• Dynamic, highly motivated and team oriented
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Fluency in English is essential. Additional language skills will prove advantageous, in particular German
