Direct Support Professional: Residential Counselor / One to One Counselor

Provide necessary services to maintain and develop Innovative Life Solution habilitation programs to insure individual health, safety and welfare.

This position is responsible for creating a normalized home-like environment for individuals with developmental and physical disabilities
Job Responsibilities:
Some duties may include but not limited to:
§ Engaging individual in active treatment
§ Assisting with daily living activities
§ Completing required documentation
§ Assisting individual with meeting appointments as needed, working with interdisciplinary team to provide person-centered supports and all around care, etc.
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and become insured under company vehicle insurance
- Previous experience working with the physically and mentally challenged individuals and/or with severe behaviors
- Must have basic working knowledge and experience in managing disruptive behavior
- Must have experience in Behavioral Support Plan (BSP) implementation
- Must be able to read, write and comprehend documentation, which may be of a technical nature
- Must be able to perform basic mathematical computations
- Observe, log and chart information
- Must know how to communicate in a respectable and professional manor
- Have the ability to maintain composure in a stressful situation and to react quickly and efficiently
- Must be able to lift 60 lbs at minimum, unassisted
- Assist others with walking, reaching, standing, stooping, and kneeling at all times
