Director – Program Management for a leading IT Services organization
Our client is a leading IT Services firm with operations across the globe. This position is a very important part of their growth strategy for the BFSI vertical.
Position background:
The position has evolved as a part of the strategic initiative. A Program Management team is being created as a part of the Corporate division to strengthen the Delivery and thereby the client engagement.
The incumbent would be expected to define and lead strategy, implementation, operational planning / excellence, establishment, execution, and evaluation of multifaceted programs.
• This works very closely with business customers to understand business needs and requirements to provide recommendations and improvements to processes, projects and services.
• Incorporates industry best practices, conducts internal and external benchmarking, and enforces standards, key measures and ethics.
• Integrates and aligns with other processes and solutions.
• Supports executive decision-making, reports program and implementation status, identifies skill gaps and initiates activities to close the gaps.
• Measures and tracks performance: enhance performance and achieve targets and identified opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness
The position works closely with the Business Heads and Chief Operating Officer.
The incumbent shall:
• Handle, Manage and grow very large client engagements in the Banking and Financial Services vertical,
• Program Manage and ensure milestone achievement. Provide leadership and mentoring support to project managers and other professionals within the team
• Manage timely delivery within the specified and agreed Quality norms. Will ensure that project related deliverables meet specifications, are approved by Project Sponsor and other stakeholders, and are maintained in the central repository
• Prioritize program / project risks, develop mitigation plans and actively monitor risks
• Work with Project Managers and leaders to manage resource allocation and project budget throughout the life of a program
• Ensure that project related deliverables meet specifications and are approved by Project Sponsor / other stakeholders
• Understand the larger picture and help in growing each account by enhancing the credibility and help take the relationship to a much higher level
• Identify issues affecting work progress in the program, raise them to program / project stakeholders using appropriate channels, and recommends solutions
• Prioritize program / project risks, develops mitigation plans and actively monitors risks
• Keep a keen eye on opportunities from an outsourcing perspective and increase the pie from the particular and associated groups within the client organization
Ideal Incumbent:
• Must have handled very large client engagements between USD 40-100 M
• Extensive experience within the Banking and Financial Services
• Should have handled multi country/currency engagements and would have a very good understanding of various geographies from a culture and strength perspective
• Should be a very strong account Manager with an ability to manage relationships at the most senior levels with very large Banks / Financial services organizations
• Should be able to influence decisions at senior levels and have a very strong expectation management skills
• Should have ideally got some experience on Banking Products
• Should have a proven ability to identify, anticipate and resolve risks and conflicts. Should also be able to manage Client specific issues /queries and do assumption management
• Must establish and jointly define with the senior members of the management, a strategic roadmap for growth within Program Management
• Should have the ability to refine client feedback and expectations into prospective process improvement and add value to the client on a continuous basis.
