DIRECTOR – INTERNATIONAL SOCIAL IMPACT BONDS recruitment
Background
Social Finance is seeking to support the creation of a network of like-minded socially motivated financiers to develop a range of implementations around the world. The ambition is to create a network of intermediaries developing outcome finance models, sharing learning and experience and enabling investment across a range of social issues.
Social Finance is a pioneering organisation that develops financial products that meet the needs of both investors and social purpose organisations. We support social organisations to raise and deploy capital, work with government to deliver social change and develop social investment markets and opportunities.
Role and Responsibilities
Social Finance is seeking an outstanding individual to help build the market for Social Impact Bonds internationally. The International SIB Director will build, develop and support a network of local partners to develop Social Impact Bonds that meet local social and political needs.
The Director will build on the existing political momentum created by the launch of the Peterborough Social Impact Bond in the US, Canada, Australia, Ireland, Scotland and Israel. The Director will also support local partners to stimulate and build political interest elsewhere in Europe and Asia.
The Director will draw on the experience and capacity of Social Finance’s UK team to support local partners to identify appropriate target populations, outcome metrics and legal structures; and to support local partners to undertake financial analyses and develop strong local investor networks.
Experience and Skills
Social Finance is seeking an outstanding, entrepreneurial individual with a strong interest in how investment approaches can drive social change. Candidates must have:
- Strong entrepreneurship and business drive combined with the ability to generate and drive transactions throughout their lifecycle and work creatively to meet the client mandate
- High level of banking skills, demonstrable experience and expertise in developing structuring and negotiating investment transactions
- Strong communication, leadership and influencing skills, including the ability to enable others and build strong partnerships and relationships
- Ability to undertake significant travel, including trips of 2 weeks duration or more
It would be desirable for candidates to have:
- Experience of the UK or overseas charitable sector, social investment or social entrepreneurship
- Experience of working at senior level with or within government
Compensation
£80 to £90k
