Director
Oversee management of all areas of the Site Services function for the Aerojet Sacramento Site which includes: plant and equipment maintenance, facility engineering and construction, office and production space planning, motor pool management and vehicle maintenance, waste operations, fire protection systems maintenance, utilities management and energy conservation, industrial fire brigade, emergency response and other contracted support services. Responsible for providing reliable facilities, utilities and equipment to support Production Operations resulting in high quality products that meet cost objectives and on time delivery goals.
- Provides policies, procedures, guidance and direction through subordinate management team to effectively operate, maintain, and modify the Aerojet Sacramento Facilities and provide special services to meet the needs of Engineering, Test Operations and Production Operations and other support organizations. Coordinates priorities with internal customers and plans and acquires the appropriate resources to meet the Program requirements.
- Prepares and tracks an annual overhead and capital budget of approximately $30M which includes the labor cost for 130 employees, supplies and materials, facility modification projects, capital improvements and contracted services.
- Develops and sustains an aggressive Environmental Health and Safety program meeting established Enterprise goals and objectives. Ensures compliance with all environmental requirements and regulations.
- Develops and implements solutions to complex problems and issues through collaboration with subordinate employees and cross functional teams.
- Oversees and champions Affordability Initiatives to reduce plant operations and maintenance costs, including utilities, vehicles, supplies, and infrastructure.
- Makes staffing decisions and prepares employee performance plans, appraisals and salary plans.
A Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Management and 14 years experience in facilities management, facility engineering and maintenance operations or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated ability to direct and control overall organizational resources and provide director-level leadership. Strong skills in verbal and written communication as well as computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge of Maintenance and Facility Engineering best practices and efficiency improvement. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively select, appraise, motivate and develop subordinates. Leadership in a Bargaining Unit environment is desirable. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship).
