The Company's HR systems infrastructure is a strategic priority and will further enable the function to transform through a significant reduction in manual processes creating the opportunity for the global HR team to focus on higher value-add activities.  The post-holder is expected to play a leading role in the review and rollout a global Software as a Service (SaaS) HR solution in partnership with IT, Finance, external vendors and regional/country HR teams.  A key focus of this role is to standardize HR systems, processes and interfaces across the globe.

 

As such, this position will report directly to the Global Head of HR.  Key stakeholders within HR will be the MD of HR for the Americas and the Senior Director of Global LD.  Key stakeholders outside HR will be the Group and Regional CFOs, members of the Executive Group, and the Head of Compliance.

Since 2008, Fitch Solutions has offered a range of comprehensive data, analytical tools and risk services to fixed-income investors and other market participants. Product offerings cover research services, risk and performance analytics, structured finance solutions, pricing and valuation services, quantitative analytics and training.

Fitch's Human Resources department supports Fitch Ratings and Fitch Solutions, a client group currently comprising a headcount of just over 2100.  It provides a service in line with a business partner model, in partnership with a "Centre of Excellence" in Learning Development.  Fitch has dedicated HR and LD teams in the regional hubs of New York, Chicago, London and Singapore.  In addition, basic HR administration duties are fulfilled by Office Managers and Assistants in each office location.  In April 2012 a Global Head of HR was appointed with the remit globalise and streamline the function and re-align it with the business.

The key accountability areas of the role are:

 

(i)             Support, maintenance and development of the Company's Human Resource Information System (HRIS) in addition to other systems supported by the HR team.

(ii)            Management of the Company's compensation programs.

(iii)           Oversight of all management information and reporting on the Company's human capital

 

 

HRIS

 

As the manager of the Company's HRIS, the post-holder will serve as a technical point-of-contact and ensure data integrity; and oversee and conduct the testing of system changes, report writing, security control and analysis data flows for process improvement opportunities. The post-holder will also support HRIS upgrades, patches, testing and other technical projects as assigned.  Although this position is not directly responsible for processing the Company's payrolls, it is responsible for maintaining a seamless integration of the employee data into the payroll process.

 

Compensation Program Management

 

The post-holder will be responsible for the overall analysis, development and delivery of corporate compensation programs based on business objectives, cost effectiveness and competitive practice. This includes management of the annual compensation review process in addition to serving, on a day to day basis, as the Company's primary resource for information, problem-solving, and communication with senior management for all areas pertaining to corporate compensation. 

 

Management Information Reporting

 

The post-holder will manage the delivery of routine headcount and staff cost reports used within Executive functions and across the business, including liason with business and HR leaders to determine reporting and analytics requirements, understanding business processes and needs of HR and Finance, and providing consultative guidance where appropriate.  The post-holder is expected to drive opportunities to increase the analytic capability of both their team and the wider HR function to create meaningful, value-added reporting while also seeking continuous improvement opportunities to streamline and automate reporting needs, reducing manual tasks and increasing team capacity for operational and/or unplanned work.


Line Management

 

This post will have two direct reports.

 

  • 5+ years of experience working with relational databases and/or web-based enterprise reporting systems.
  • 5+ years of compensation experience including design and implementation/administration.
  • Experience of managing and motivating a small team. Ideally experience of managing reports in different locations
  • Experience of working in an international HR function highly preferred.
  • High level of competency with HR systems and reporting. Strong knowledge of database structures, methods of connectivity, queries, joins, and data transformation.
