Director Accounting
Main purpose of the job
The director Accounting is responsible for all accounting activities in the segment. All accounting functions in the different companies/countries are reporting to him/her.
The director Accounting is responsible for ensuring timely, transparent and accurate financial statements, efficient accounting work with internal and outsourced resources and correct and efficient IT accounting systems. The functions needs to ensure monthly, quarterly and yearly financial statements according to IFRS and local GAAP and run an efficient and trustful cooperation with the external auditors. With the help of external tax advisers all tax related issues incl. all necessary tax declarations have to be processed in a correct and efficient manner.
Candidate
· 10+ years of professional experience in an international accounting environment, with at least 7 years with a big4 accounting firm
· Deep Knowledge of IFRS
· Knowledge of local GAAP in Belgium, France and/or the Netherlands is an advantage
· Deep knowledge of consolidating a group of companies
· Solid tax knowledge
· Fluent in English
· Dutch, French and/or German are an advantage
· Knowledge of SAP and Cognos preferred
· Good leadership skills, experience in leading on distance
Office / Base: Schiphol region with regular but not extensive travel to Ghent, Paris, Zurich, London
