Thomson Reuters Point Carbon Advisory will add an associate director to the team of consultants and researchers advising clients on energy and carbon related issues. We welcome candidates with strong analytical skills, who have experience within energy, renewable energy, clean tech or carbon markets. Point Carbon was acquired by Thomson Reuters in May 2010 to strengthen Thomson Reuters' offerings to the energy sector through the combination of Point Carbon's critical insight, market fundamentals and analytics, and Thomson Reuters' leading news and trading services. Thomson Reuters Point Carbon (www.pointcarbon.com) offers an exciting and dynamic work place, and the successful candidate will have a key role in Point Carbon Advisory. Point Carbon Advisory provides clients with customized and in-depth analysis and advice on a wide range of carbon and energy issues (www.pointcarbon.com/advisory/), and recently won the 2011 Advisory of the Year Award in Energy Risk Magazine. The Advisory team consists of around 16 consultants, including several of the leading experts in the global carbon market, operating within the largest group of carbon market analysts in Europe. Job location will be in Washington DC USA or London, UK.      
       
Essential Day-to-Day Responsibilities:      

_ Lead the US Advisory team based out of DC
- Business development, Client Development and Management; sale of research and consulting projects on a global scale
- Management and execution of internal and external projects
- Development of cutting-endge analyses, frameworks and models for clients active in the energy and sustainability space.

Education:     

- Minimum a Master degree or similar degree from a renowned university, for example in Economics, Technology Management, Business or Finance.      
     
Required Skills:

 
- Minimum 10 years of relevant professional experience within energy and emission markets (preferably with experience in renewables, cleantech, energy efficiency sectors focussing on commerical, financial and strategic advisory);
- Analytical by nature and delivering work recognised by structure and high quality;
- Excellent writing and communication skills in English;
- Familiarity with use of MS Excel, MS PowerPoint;
_ Has led teams; simultaneous management of multiple clients and projects
- Proven team player, excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Self motivated and proactive with business sense;
- Good time management and organisational skills     

   
Desired Skills:

   
- Additional languages could be considered a plus;
- Consulting, corporate or industry experience
- Strong international network of clients
