Description

Treasury Operations is responsible for business development activities to enable Treasury's trading functions as well as for the submission of benchmark rates. As part of the Bank Treasury Operations, the benchmark submissions group is responsible for the timely and accurate submission of all Enhanced Risk Benchmark Submissions within UBS. Compliance with Regulatory and Bank policies and procedures are a key mandate instrumental to the benchmark setting process and the long-term commitment of UBS to the continued integrity of all Benchmarks within its remit.
With the extended scope of the Benchmark Submissions team and its increasing accountability to Regulators and Administrators, the team requires additional resources in the EMEA region to maintain and advance the various “Change the Bank” initiatives already in place.
Role: Work closely with the existing Submissions Supervisor with a view to assuming responsibility for the coordination of the Bank’s Regulatory and “Change the Bank” processes and procedures within the area of Benchmark Submissions. This will involve the maintenance, monitoring and continued evolution of UBS’ policies and procedures, the monitoring of key Regulatory policies, the maintenance of UBS’ policies and procedures and the overall, continued compliance of the group within this Regulatory framework. With a firm understanding of business rationale, financial products and our process infrastructure, this role will lead and coordinate business process design and end-to-end implementation related to the Benchmark Submissions process. In addition the role will assume responsibility, with close interaction with all relevant internal and external stakeholders, for the documentation and administration of all key processes and methodologies within the Benchmark Submissions team. This role is based in London and will report directly to the Benchmark Submissions Supervisor.
Specific Responsibilities
• Develop and implement an enhanced regime of monitoring and coordination of Regulatory and “Change the Bank” initiatives within the Benchmark setting group of UBS.
• Ensure that all documentation, policies and procedures remain relevant and up-to-date with reference to all Regulatory policies and updates.
• Keep abreast of all regulatory and internal policies procedures to ensure all developments in this space are planned, implemented, managed and monitored.
• Preparation for meetings, workshops and round table discussions both internal and external to UBS.
• Ensure periodic reviews of submissions policies and procedures are carried out in accordance with regulatory policies. Expand these reviews to encompass other support functions in line with UBS and industry best practice.
• Interaction with IT acting as a conduit between the Benchmark Submissions Team and IT to ensure reasonable deployment and efficient use of resources.
• Perform/interact with program manager to ensure coverage, delivery, management, monitoring of tasks concerning “Change the Bank” submissions deliverables.
• Assume responsibility for Administration tasks within the Benchmark Submissions team.
• Help coordinate audit tasks and deliverables both with Group Internal Audit and External Audit.
• Ensure all relevant data requirements and records are adequately kept and archived.
• Coordinate business continuity and disaster recovery plans, tasks and deliverables.

 

 

Requirements

General Requirements
• General knowledge of all interest rate instruments is preferred
• General knowledge of interest rate Benchmarks
• Related experience in the financial services industry, operating in the relevant markets related to Benchmark Rate Submissions
• High risk awareness and sense of responsibility
• High resilience along with a strong work ethic and multi-tasking capabilities
• Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as within a regional/global team environment
• Strong interpersonal, analytical, written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to communicate fluently in English is required (both written spoken)

Job Specific Requirements
• Significant knowledge of major financial market behaviours and trends
• Specific knowledge of market mechanisms and benchmark rates
• Candidates with former trader and program management roles are preferred
• Knowledge of financial data and systems
• Knowledge of products used in Treasury such as Money Market, IRS, OIS, Repo, FX Swaps etc.
