Sapient Global Markets Market Initiatives Infrastructure practice (MII) is at the center of this changing business environment and provides infrastructure and business advisory assistance to trade associations, utilities and market participants alike. As a Director you will be responsible for driving innovative strategies to improve business performance and manage risk. Your project management skills will be put to good test liaising with and managing stakeholders at all levels within our clients. The engagements might range from advisory projects on client clearing to data infrastructure projects in order for clients to meet the challenging upcoming regulations on client and product identifiers as well as developing client relationships and managing delivery teams. Up to date business and product technical knowledge is vital to remain on top of the challenges that face our project managers since the landscape is not yet clear and our solutions must remain nimble and agile to adjust as required. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist clients to meet the demands of the evolving market structure and financial regulatory reforms relating to market transparency and systemic risk mitigation including: strategic and tactical initiatives for migration to central counterparty clearing of OTC derivatives (related to Title VII of Dodd-Frank), collateral transformation, Volcker rule (Title VI) implications, financial and regulatory reporting of derivatives transactions, and bond issuance modeling. Orchestrate the delivery of industry-level initiatives across the project lifecycle, from business case generation to implementation. Utilize and develop existing best practices, methodologies and tools to support delivery. Developing the project strategy and project plan, scoping individual projects and/or initiatives based on a prioritization of current issues and strategic initiatives, identifying key stakeholders and business impact on the line and support departments. Running or overseeing multiple projects simultaneously. Coordinate teams to ensure delivery success whilst acting as an interface between our clients and stakeholders. Facilitate workshops and host compelling presentations as well as represent Sapient on paneled market discussions. Develop future business opportunities, client relationships and commercial offerings. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree and significant specific work experience in financial services. Strong experience in a complex, large scale change management environment and/or project management environment. Recognized project management qualification advantageous but not essential. Strong understanding of the front-to-back trade event life cycle processing and subject matter expertise in one or more of the following products an advantage: Loans; Credit Derivatives; FX, Commodities, Interest Rate Derivatives or Equity Derivatives. Exposure to Market Infrastructure and Initiatives a strong advantage particularly: (i) CCPs (ii) Trade Repositories (iii) Middleware and (iv) Electronic Trade Execution Venues Strong understanding of CCP readiness and regulatory reporting of current impacts of the Dodd-Frank Act. Exposure to any of the following execution, middleware/SDR, CCP or industry associations viewed positively: Bloomberg VCON; TradeWeb; MarketAxess; ICAP; MarkitServ; ICELink; DTCC; TriOptima; ICE; CME; Eurex; LCH; IDCG; ISDA or SIFMA. Former exposure to specific in-house vendor systems a plus e.g. Calypso, Summit, Murex; Scrittura; Thunderhead, etc. Experience in reviewing or authoring executive-level presentations and best practice papers. Previous consulting background is an advantage. Previous business development and client relationship management is an advantage. Strong communication, presentation, facilitation and negotiation skills at a senior level. A meticulous eye for detail and an ability to contextualize problems and deliver appropriate solutions.
