Director, Navaids Business Development

LOCATION...
We are affording the selected candidate the opportunity to work remotely or from one of our many locations in the US or UK. However, frequent travel to our Navaids operations in Salt Lake City, UT and Luton, UK will be necessary.

SUMMARY...
Responsible for managing the business development activities for Moog's Navaids business sector, reporting to the Sector General Manager. The incumbent is required to grow new business opportunities for Moog-Fernau navigational aids military and commercial customized solutions and service in line with the agreed international strategy across the identified markets. The incumbent is also required to be a key member of the Sector Level Strategic Management Team and work with members of the functional teams at various company locations to manage and develop profitable growth research data and develop additional business in applicable markets.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES...
1. Provide a constant level of excellent customer service.
2. Assist senior staff with creation of strategy designed to achieve product line expansion via identification of strategic potential business or IP acquisition. Develop rationalized plan to grow business via combination of new business development of existing product line in identified markets with acquisition of emerging technologies/companies with aligned products and markets. Acquisition targets include:
- Existing and future application markets
- Selected customers or competitors in Niche and Emerging Markets
- Adjacent Product markets
3. Evaluate existing sales channels and methods so to deliver Military and Commercial Sales and Aftermarket Service efficiently and effectively
4. Plan for adequate staff, facilities and financial resources to meet job requirements.
5. Assist sales force to secure profitable orders, within the agreed pricing policy, and manage the commercial risk.
6. Assist in development of appropriate sales strategy.
7. Assist with sales activity to achieve identified sales targets.
8. Report regularly to local and Corporate Management on business development opportunities.
9. Understand and monitor the industrial key account customers, markets and competitors.
10. Relentlessly pursue operational excellence (QDSC quality, delivery, service and cost). Increase competitiveness.

QUALIFICATIONS...
1. 10+ years experience in aviation/avionics sales, marketing management, and business development.
2. Undergraduate degree from an accredited University; MBA preferred
3. Acceptable technical knowledge of air traffic control systems such as TACAN, DME, DF, ILS, ADS-B, NextGEN technologies, data-communication and/or similar equipment systems and solutions.
4. Proven specific capabilities in: selling, relationship building, negotiation, contract development, contract management, budget creation and measurement.
5. Proven specific capabilities in: Business and International strategy; outstanding communication and interpersonal skills; analytical and problem-solving skills; organizational ability; facilitation skills; presentation skills.
6. Proven abilities in identification of acquisition candidates which fit business objectives; actual due diligence or business purchase experience, understanding of tools available to assist with successful completion of these objectives.
7. Team builder. Strong leadership skills. Excellent reputation within aviation/avionics industry.
8. Good understanding of business processes and IT tools
9. Excellent communication skills in English.
10. Ability to integrate discrete businesses for purposes of branding, product rationalization, and team building.
