Director Business Strategy & Planning recruitment

The Product Services Strategy and Planning (PSSP) group is responsible for:

• Identifying and translating product, customer, market and competitive trends into opportunities and challenges

• Facilitating collaborative development and design of cross-business strategies, initiatives and contingency plans

• Driving / collaborating on execution of cross-business strategies, initiatives and innovation

• Collaborating and aligning cross-business strategy, analysis, execution with the individual product lines, corporate strategy and other exchange divisions

Some examples of PSSP projects include:

• Facilitating and contributing to the development of long-term strategy for individual business lines and sales teams

• Developing and coordinating strategies and tactical plans across business lines and sales teams

• Providing strategic analysis of competitive threats, areas of opportunity, trends and market developments that impact corporate, business line, or customer segment growth

• Partnering with business line teams, Finance and Research in the development, execution and monitoring of annual strategic plans and key initiatives for growth

• Developing and prioritizing technology requirements across Products and Services and ensuring execution by cross-functional teams

• Identifying and driving innovation opportunities

This position is responsible for:

• Driving opportunities and key initiatives by framing and leading strategic diagnoses of situation and the competitive environment, using both qualitative methods and quantitative models

• Driving the development of strategic plans working with business lines, sales teams and other teams across the exchange

• Driving quantitative and qualitative analysis for PSSP and for other PS departments generating actionable recommendations – including customer volume and trading analyses, market forecasts, and scenario analysis for different business initiatives or strategies

• Driving and collaborating on market and competitive research efforts to examine activities and trends that could have a strategic impact on the overall enterprise including competitive threats, regulatory activity and changing economic factors

• Tracking and facilitating communication around the progress of business initiative development and execution, providing timely analysis and issue escalation

• Identifying, quantifying and presenting product line business opportunities to PS and CME management

• Experience in derivatives markets, commodities markets, and / or financial services

• 12-15+ years of work experience; experience in strategy or business development is preferred

• Advanced business degree is preferred
