Director, Capital Management
The team works closely with local CFO and Risk teams globally and additionally with ECM colleagues in US, and requires strong proactive working relationships across ranks and functions to operate effectively.
The role encompasses understanding all aspects of the capital composition required to support the international entities and an assessment in relation to the risks. This includes ICAAPs, capital plans and forecasts, capital movements / dividends / injections across the legal entities.
The role entails working in partnership with the regulatory reporting, compliance, counterparty and capital as a subject matter expert, yet demonstrating appropriate challenge and due diligence.
Responsibilities
- Undertake appropriate challenge and due diligence to support senior ECM approval of capital related actions in international legal entities and ensure in line with Enterprise objectives
- Partner closely with the regulatory reporting teams globally to understand local and / or relevant regulatory reporting requirements for the legal entities
- Understand the capital composition in the legal entities and associated material risks, and how they fit into the overall enterprise view
- Provide guidance and direction to local colleagues in capital related submissions, such as ICAAPs or capital plans to ensure global consistency.
- Delivery of high quality analysis with recommendations to senior management
Requirements
- Good knowledge of balance sheet, capital and regulatory reporting requirements
- Knowledge of differences between Asia-Pacific / European / US accounting rules would be advantageous
- Good knowledge of Basel II / III rules
- Broad knowledge of financial products
- Strong quantitative skills and genuine interest in interpretation of data
- Able to assess overall picture and understand key risks
- Leadership skills, and ability to prioritise manage multiple tasks
- Strong interpersonal communication skills with ability and desire to build networks and work across multiple functions
