Position Summary
Under general direction of the Vice President – Supply Chain Management, responsible for the business relationship between AmerisourceBergen and large suppliers.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Creates, implements, executes and continuously improves processes that result in predictable, sustainable and repeatable outcomes, including but not limited to standard operating procedures, systems, cross functional processes, contract life-cycle management, compliance metrics, training / on-boarding and sales operations (SOP) planning processes.
- Provides guidance to category managers on the negotiation of contracts, establishment of sourcing relationships and management of associate-related programs.
- Collaborates with internal departments such as Human Resources, Finance, Legal and other Supply Chain Management entities in order to promote the best interests of AmerisourceBergen.
- Manages the trade affairs with key strategic suppliers to include negotiating business agreements and settling disputes and / or issues as needed.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
Experience and Education Requirements
Requires broad training in fields such as business administration, accountancy, sales, finance or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four year bachelor's degree program or equivalent combination of experience and education; normally requires a minimum of ten (10) years directly related and progressively responsible managerial experience.
Minimum Skills, Knowledge and Ability Requirements
- Knowledge of product and supplier base, product relationships and pharmaceutical / life sciences industry trends
- Working knowledge of sales, supply chain management and / or inventory management principles and methodologies
- Exceptional contract management and project management skills, including the ability to work collaboratively across the organization and manage multiple projects of various diverse scope in a cross-functional environment
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Excellent negotiating skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills; attention to detail
- Ability to implement processes resulting in satisfactory audit practices
- Strong computer skills in order to operate effectively with company systems and programs; knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
