Position Summary

Under general direction of the Vice President – Supply Chain Management, responsible for the business relationship between AmerisourceBergen and large suppliers.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Creates, implements, executes and continuously improves processes that result in predictable, sustainable and repeatable outcomes, including but not limited to standard operating procedures, systems, cross functional processes, contract life-cycle management, compliance metrics, training / on-boarding and sales operations (SOP) planning processes.
  2. Provides guidance to category managers on the negotiation of contracts, establishment of sourcing relationships and management of associate-related programs.
  3. Collaborates with internal departments such as Human Resources, Finance, Legal and other Supply Chain Management entities in order to promote the best interests of AmerisourceBergen.
  4. Manages the trade affairs with key strategic suppliers to include negotiating business agreements and settling disputes and / or issues as needed.
  5. Performs related duties as assigned.
Experience and Education Requirements

Requires broad training in fields such as business administration, accountancy, sales, finance or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four year bachelor's degree program or equivalent combination of experience and education; normally requires a minimum of ten (10) years directly related and progressively responsible managerial experience.

Minimum Skills, Knowledge and Ability Requirements

  1. Knowledge of product and supplier base, product relationships and pharmaceutical / life sciences industry trends
  2. Working knowledge of sales, supply chain management and / or inventory management principles and methodologies
  3. Exceptional contract management and project management skills, including the ability to work collaboratively across the organization and manage multiple projects of various diverse scope in a cross-functional environment
  4. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  5. Excellent negotiating skills
  6. Strong interpersonal skills
  7. Strong organizational skills; attention to detail
  8. Ability to implement processes resulting in satisfactory audit practices
  9. Strong computer skills in order to operate effectively with company systems and programs; knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
